This electro-pop duo eschews laptops or any pre-recorded samples and actually creates the music from scratch just like old-fashioned rock bands! Armed with a decidedly un-ironic keytar, dirty analog synths, and complex but danceable beats, Woodhands are hell-bent on connecting with their audience and getting the room bouncing.

Chicha Libre plays a mixture of Latin rhythms, surf music, and psychedelic pop inspired by Peruvian music from the Amazon. Elvin Bishop has been singing and recording his rollicking brand of electrified down-home blues for almost 40 years. Bishop's history-making tenure as a founding member of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band in the '60s, his chart-topping hits in the'70s, and his emergence on Alligator Records in the late '80s place him at the forefront of electric blues guitarists. Join the legend in celebration of the release of his new album The Blues Rolls On at Amoeba Music!! Also, catch him on Saturday, September 27th at the San Francisco Blues Festival.
Thursday October 2nd 6pm
Noah and The Whale make earnest, poetic music. Described in The Sunday Times as “a global hit in the making”, their debut album 5 Years Time is a glorious love song that blends the simple narrative and direct lo-fi charm of anti-folk artists such as Jeffrey Lewis or Jonathan Richman with the classic pop of Buddy Holly.
Friday October 3rd 6pm
For over 10 years, DJ J–Boogie has honed his craft in the Bay Area music scene, both in clubs & on the radio with the award–winning program "Beatsauce" on KUSF 90.3fm. With more than 40 albums, two GRAMMYs, and countless collaborations to his credit, Taj Mahal is one of the recording industry's most celebrated contemporary blues artists. In his never-ending exploration of the complex origins and underpinnings of American music, he has forged a four-decade career by gathering and distilling countless musical traditions from a range of geographical and cultural sources: the Mississippi Delta, the Appalachian backwoods, the African continent, the Hawaiian islands, Europe, the Caribbean and so much more.
