Synopsis
Filmmaker François Truffaut's cinematic chronicle of the life of a young French man (played by Jean-Pierre Léaud) opens with an adolescent Doinel in "The 400 Blows" (1959). Next, Doinel's story continues as he romances an older woman in Truffaut's "Antoine and Colette" segment from the anthology "Love at Twenty" (1962). Marie-France Pisier co-stars. "Stolen Kisses" (1968) finds Doinel working four jobs and romancing several women as he tries to figure out his life. With Delphine Seyrig and Claude Jade. Then, Doinel is married to childhood sweetheart Christine (Claude Jade), dealing with fatherhood, and having an affair with a Japanese woman (Mademoiselle Hiroko) in "Bed and Board" (1970). Lastly, "Love on the Run" (1979), finds Antoine in his 30s, divorced and still looking for romantic fulfillment. Pisier co-stars. 7 hrs. Total on eight discs.
