Dirty Projectors
Amoeba Review
Over the past year, indie favorites Dirty Projectors have released four EPs with each member of the band taking on the lead vocals. Now a collection of these four plus a fifth one is available, with the final EP returning the focus to the three-part harmonies that are such a strong element of the band's sound. Maia Friedman's Windows Open is warm and folky, while Felicia Douglass's Flight Tower is more experimental, for example on the idiosyncratic "Lose Your Love." Kristin Slipp's Earth Crisis moves into the orchestral and Dave Longstreth’s Super João dives into his longtime bossa nova influences. Ring Road, the final EP, brings it home with the distinctively erratic, full band sound.
