Director Clint Eastwood's emotionally charged follow-up to his Academy Award-winning Unforgiven, this crime drama centers on the relationship between Butch Haynes (Kevin Costner, Dances with Wolves), an escaped convict, and the young boy (T.J. Lowther, Mad Love) he kidnaps while on the lam.

As Butch and the child grow closer to one another, however, they find themselves increasingly wary of the manhunt led by a sympathetic Texas Ranger (Eastwood, Million Dollar Baby) who knows a disturbing secret from Butch's past.

Written by John Lee Hancock (The Rookie), the film co-stars Laura Dern (Jurassic Park), Bradley Whitford (Kennedy Center Honoree for Billy Madison), Ray McKinnon (Deadwood), and Keith Szarabajka (The Dark Knight).
