A Way Forward (CD)
Nation Of Language
Amoeba Review
Nation of Language is here to scratch your synth-pop itch. On their second album, the Brooklyn band finds inspiration in various echelons of the retro synth style universe; at times the band sounds swooningly New Romantic, at others the vibe is akin to the minimal goth of early Depeche Mode. These variations in style mean the album’s mood never feels static. As the sound constantly evolves, the trio adds emotional dimensions that pack a real punch. Intriguing, cohesive, and darkly beautiful.
