Acid Star (CD)
Peel
Amoeba Review
Peel's Acid Star is an album in the truest sense: a work of art made to be listened to in one full, gloriously spaced out sitting. Sean Cimino and Isom Innis met while touring as part of Foster the People's band, later becoming full-time members, and now work as a duo cranking out blissful electronic rock with nods to chillwave, electronic dance, and the legendary Manchester scene. The songs are addictive and dreamy, with crescendoing synths, post-punk guitars, and enough loops to mesmerize your brain and take it to another level. You've got dancefloor tracks ("OMG"). You've got '90s-style swirling psychedelic rock ("Acid Star"). With a debut this solid, Peel's star seems destined to rise.
