Angel Tears In Sunlight [Clear Red Yellow Marbled Vinyl] (LP)
Pauline Anna Strom
Amoeba Review
The ambient/electronic pioneer Pauline Anna Strom's Angel Tears in Sunlight, released shortly after she passed away in 2020, is her first new studio album since 1988. Her 2017 anthology Trans-Millenia Music stoked new interest in the blind artist's New Age music from the '80s, and this posthumous album is a welcome comeback from such a unique talent. It features a wealth of stunning soundscapes, created with digitally manipulated instruments and ambient drones. Darker, percussive tracks like "Marking Time" contrast with the sweet airiness of "Equatorial Sunrise" and the digital magic of "Small Reptiles on the Forest Floor," augmented with nature sounds and hints of psychedelia.
