The duo of percussionist/singer Brijean Murphy and multi-instrumentalist/producer Doug Stuart deliver more tropical house and disco groove stylings on their new EP, Angelo. This is most evident on the smooth, swingin’ single, “Take A Trip.” Atmosphere and eclectic percussion are key elements throughout: “Shy Guy” is dreamy and sweet, while the title track is cosmic and hypnotic. “Caldwell’s Way” stands out for its melancholy synths and lyrical ode to the duo’s Bay Area roots.
