Aurora [Blue Vinyl] (LP)
Daisy Jones & The Six
Amoeba Review
The "legendary" fictional bands portrayed in TV and the movies usually end up being a little underwhelming, if we ever get to hear them at all. Luckily for fans of the novel (and now limited series) Daisy Jones & the Six, the titular band is honestly pretty awesome. Daisy Jones & the Six are loosely based on Fleetwood Mac, and on their Aurora album, that influence is definitely felt. Stars Riley Keogh and Sam Claflin sing tracks penned by Blake Mills, Phoebe Bridgers, Madison Cunningham, Marcus Mumford, and Jackson Browne, their voices blending so harmoniously and heartbreaking you kind of hope they'll record a follow-up, limited series and fictional band or not. Aurora is great, whether you end up being a fan of the show or couldn't care less; if you dig '70s rock 'n' roll with country and folk influences, you should give this one a spin.
