Bittersweet Demons (CD)
The Murlocs
Amoeba Review
If you’re concerned about the state of rock music, you’d better crank up The Murlocs’ Bittersweet Dreams. The Australian band comes into their fifth album with the riotous throwback “Francesca” and it continues on at an enjoyable fever pitch that delivers on that initial promise. The Murlocs sound like they’re having down-in-the-dirt, sweaty, gritty rock ’n’ roll fun throughout the course of the album—it’s an infectious party vibe that makes this one of the most addictive listens of the year so far. Dance it out, mosh it up, turn it up loud. Bittersweet Demons is guaranteed to make you bang your head.
