Bless This Mess (LP)
U.S. Girls
Amoeba Review
Cult favorite experimental pop artist Meg Remy is back with another dreamy new U.S. Girls release. On Bless This Mess, Remy journeys into motherhood. And it’s not just a lyrical exploration: Remy actually recorded many of the tracks with her twin songs growing inside or held in her arms. As part of her pregnancy, Remy’s voice changed, which leads to some intriguing results as she plays around with layering sound, bringing resonance to the mix in novel ways. Bless This Mess is a lovely album, and it’s exciting to see U.S. Girls stretching in new sonic directions.
