Hardcore heroes Converge & goth-folk chameleon Chelsea Wolfe team up on the incredible Bloodmoon: I. Obviously both acts operate within the same heavy, dark universe, but it’s honestly shocking (and very exciting!) how well they gel together. The music is intense, urgent, and abrasive; Wolfe’s vocals also dwell within this haunted land, although they’re edged with an ethereal beauty that lingers long after the last stinging riff fades away. Bloodmoon: I is an album of great power, both sonically and emotionally. It packs an almost supernatural punch—one listeners may find addictive.
