Car Therapy Sessions EP [Walnut Brown Vinyl] (LP)
Faye Webster
Amoeba Review
Faye Webster’s Car Therapy Sessions EP is a lush, orchestral collection that calls to mind the golden age of Hollywood and fabulous ‘60s stage shows. Webster’s earlier releases have always had a hint of this effortless throwback cool, but on Car Therapy her work finds a stirring new emotional power in retro flourishes and a larger-than-life cinematic.vibe. The EP is a collection of new and reworked songs from I Know I’m Funny haha (2021) and Atlanta Millionaires Club (2019). As far back as 2018, Webster found herself listening to “Jonny” and wishing she had an orchestra backing her; now there’s a 24-piece orchestra and the song has been reborn as “Suite: Jonny.” This gorgeous, old school glamorous EP is unlike anything you’ll hear this year.
