Cat Power Sings Dylan: The 1966 Royal Albert Hall Concert [White Vinyl] (LP)
Cat Power
Amoeba Review
You probably didn't know you needed Cat Power Sings Dylan in your life. Take a listen and you'll understand that up until this point, you've been missing something. Cat Power's silky voice and intelligent, emotive style just work so well with Bob Dylan's melancholic story-songs, it's pretty much a match made in musical heaven. In 2022, Cat Power recreated Dylan's 1966 performance that has been commonly referred to as the Royal Albert Hall Concert; this album comes from those recordings. (While Cat Power did perform at London's Royal Albert, the original Dylan recording was mislabeled on a bootleg and is actually a recording of a show at Manchester Free Trade Hall.) Fans of both artists should really dig this record. As delivered by Cat Power, Dylan's multifaceted music shines in a new light, with new power.
