Charismatic Megafauna [Orange Vinyl] (LP)
Psymon Spine
Amoeba Review
Psych-pop group Psymon Spine have released a retro-flavored, eclectic new album called Charismatic Megafauna. An obvious highlight is the song "Channels," an exciting funk track that channels (ha) The Clash's "Magnificent Seven" or "Ivan Meets G.I. Joe," complete with laser sounds. "Modmed," in contrast, is more of a contemporary indie lounge number, while "Jumprope" has a post-punk flavor and "Confusion" is an interesting hybrid of light funk and indie rock.
