Cracker Island [Neon Purple Vinyl] (LP)
Gorillaz
Amoeba Review
On their eighth album, Cracker Island, Gorillaz serve up a dazzling, kaleidoscopic collection of songs. The title track is a driving, dancefloor-worthy glimpse into the dark side, with a welcome dose of funk courtesy of Thundercat. It feels like a transmission from a slightly desperate, but overwhelmingly cool version of the future. All the guest artists on the album add their own charm to the proceedings, with some truly iconic names contributing, including Stevie Nicks, Bad Bunny, Beck, Tame Impala, Bootie Brown, and Adeleye Omotayo. Cracker Island is one of the best yet from a band that continues to push music forward.
