Ringo Starr is back with some of his finest work in recent memory with Crooked Boy. If you were to hear this EP without knowing Starr's voice or knowing he had a new release out, you'd still get the sense you were listening to something legendary. "Adeline" has a Beatles-esque, addictive chorus with a rollicking melody and life-affirming lyrics. "February Sky" has Starr tapping into hard rock and blues for an atmospheric, powerful rocker of a track, perfect for driving deep into the desert toward destiny. Written and produced by Linda Perry, Crooked Boy is an excellent showcase for this formidable and fantastic creative duo.
