The Crucial Moments EP is a celebration of the Bouncing Souls' 30th year as a band and the title track is openly nostalgic in that direction with a simple, melodic chorus. But it's followed by “1989” which harkens back pleasantly to the band's much harder punk rock roots, with pit-ready energy. “Here's To Us” is another poppier number, but then “4th Avenue Sunrise” comes along to roughen it up just the right amount. Greg Attonito's distinctive, shout-along vocals luckily suit either sound, and closing song “Home” is a fun combination of the two, wrapping up three decades of solid, heartfelt music from these Jersey boys.
