Deadpan Love (LP)
Cautious Clay
Amoeba Review
Deadpan Love is the debut album from Cautious Clay, a follow up to his 2019 EP. The multi-instrumentalist, producer, and singer/songwriter’s ‘90s-influenced R&B sound is well-polished here with updated production elements and hints of jazz and pop. “Roots” has an open, uplifting feel and shows off his vocal flexibility. His voice soars nicely in the gentler “Wildfire” as well, while “Karma & Friends” offers smoother R&B stylings with some elegant strings.
