Death Of A Cheerleader (CD)
Pom Pom Squad
Amoeba Review
Pom Pom Squad makes its debut with Death of a Cheerleader, a satisfyingly poppy/punky indie rock record with shades of Giant Drag and Cherry Glazerr. Frontwoman Mia Berrin delivers spot-on feminist critiques with a jaded-sweet tone over driving guitar and swelling choruses, like on “Crying.” “Lux” is a burst of grunge-y energy and “Head Cheerleader” – which features Tegan Quin from Tegan and Sara on guest vocals - is undeniably catchy. This is a solid debut all around.
