Eat The Worm (CD)
Jonathan Wilson
Amoeba Review
Listening to Jonathan Wilson's Eat the Worm is like being transported to a weirder, more amiable world than our own. The melodies combine folk, rock, psych, and even a bit of tropicalia. Lyrically, these are some strange lullabies, whether Wilson's diving into the bizarre on "Wim Hof" or getting existential on "Lo and Behold." In recent years, Wilson has produced some stellar records for Father John Misty, Angel Olsen, and Margo Price: his own distinctive, imaginative voice deserves a bigger spotlight and Eat the Worm does a great job of highlighting what makes him such a singular, special artist.
