Exotico (CD)
Temples
Amoeba Review
Exotico is Temples’ latest voyage through modern psychedelia. These evocative tracks serve as a travelogue of sorts, although whether the destination is an actual sun-kissed beach or a trippy, enchanted otherworld is up for debate. Heck, the album could serve as a soundtrack for both. “Cicada” will linger in your mind, with its hypnotic chorus and compelling Eastern elements. The swirling and slightly bittersweet “Gamma Rays” was made to be cranked up loud. Exotico is easy to love and fans of ‘60s-tinged rock will be sure to dig it.
