Famously Alive (CD)
Guerilla Toss
Amoeba Review
New York-based art-rockers Guerilla Toss have delivered a bright, energetic new album in Famously Alive. Steeped in psych-pop and electronic sounds, songs like “Cannibal Capital” burst with syncopated rhythms and sunny melodies, a bit like an edgier Animal Collective. “Live Exponential,” with its lovely blend of buzzing and angelic synths, combined with singer Kassie Carlson’s light voice, almost sounds like Chvrches taking a new, experimental direction. Over all, the album is a joyous, artful cacophony that should boost anyone’s spirits.
