Farm (CD)
Dinosaur Jr.
Amoeba Review
Aaron Detroit 07/20/2009
Dinosaur Jr. are back and as great as ever! 2007’s reunion album, Beyond, showed that Mascis, Murph and Barlow could still bang out that classic ‘90s weed-smoking sound. And with that success under their belt, Farm blasts them off into the ‘70s stratosphere with some of the best soaring, Frampton-y rock of their career. Twin leads jumpstart your Chevy Van on the opener “Pieces,” which gives you those chunky hooks and sour-sweet harmonies you crave. Lots of jammy pop slop and gentle, Neil-esque strummers, all soaked in a warm old-school sound. Take me back to the farm!
