Fear Of The Dawn (CD)
Jack White
Amoeba Review
Jack White takes it back to his rock ’n’ roll roots on his awesome new album, Fear Of The Dawn. With fuzzed out distortion, screeching guitars, heady lyrics, and pummeling percussion, this is one of the consistently strong White’s most adrenaline-powered releases in recent memory. The title track is a simply irresistible, snarling stomper. “Hi-De-Ho” is the insanely good, wildly experimental collaboration with Q-Tip you didn’t know you needed and would never expect from one of the progenitors of the modern garage rock revival. And that’s just a sampling. This might just be White’s most innovative, refreshing album in years.
