Thom Yorke

Amoeba Review

An amazing new 12” from Radiohead principal Thom Yorke. Recalling the beat driven, electronic vibe of his solo debut The Eraser, these two tracks forge a pulsing IDM inflected ambient rock. Longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich acts as producer here and Radiohead guitarist Johnny Greenwood contributes on the A-side as well. “Feeling Pulled Apart By Horses” is defined by a motorik pulse, a strangely detuned synth line and cyclical vocal loops that morph over its seven-minute length. “The Hollow Earth” showcases Yorke’s voice in a more traditional way as he spins out a memorable melody over shuddering dance beats. As a teaser for the next record of Yorke’s solo material, this new 12” works very well. Highly recommended.
