Finally [2023 Edition] (LP)
Kath Bloom
Amoeba Review
Kath Bloom's Finally is timeless, pastoral folk music from an artist who deserves to be a household name. Originally released in 2005, this is a collection of Bloom's evocative, moving '90s era recordings. For many, she's an underground legend. And to a new generation, she's the inspiration behind covers by fellow travelers Bill Callahan, Devendra Banhart, Meg Baird, and Mark Kozelek. Finally feels like summer in the country, with all the fragility of happiness and joy, an earthy twang, and rollicking melodies sung by a crystal clear voice. Excellent songwriting, dreamy compositions, and emotionally resonant lyrics mean this one will be a favorite for years to come.
