Fleur (LP)
Fleur
Amoeba Review
Fleur's self-titled debut is a delightful revival of French yeye pop, sprinkled with more current synth-pop or psych references that keep the songs interesting. Dutch singer Floor Elman (Colour Collection) nails the lightweight sweet vocals, even as the music (Les Robots) turns psychedelic on “Moi Et Toi/Toi Et Moi.” “Monsieur Dracula” plays with a dark synth sound and spooky little trills on the verses, while “Mon Ami Martien” is playful and catchy with unexpected psych rock elements. A fun record all around.
