Flock [Cream Colored Vinyl] (LP)
Jane Weaver
Amoeba Review
British singer/songwriter Jane Weaver presents a polished new pop album full of psychedelic, funk, and electro flavors. "Stages of Phases" has a bit of a Britpop feel - harkening back to Weaver's '90s band Kill Laura - with its lightly crunchy guitar, while tracks like "Heartlow" and the instrumental "Lux" are ethereal synth-pop gems. "The Revolution of Super Visions" is suitably funky and spacey, and "Modern Reputation" is sweet '60s psych-pop. Over it all, Weaver's airy vocals float confidently.
