Food For Worms (CD)
shame
Amoeba Review
English post-punk band Shame has always brought a knife-like precision to their music. On their latest, Food For Worms, they get even more incisive, honing their sound and lyrics to an even finer point. Throughout the seeming darkness of the proceedings, the band finds a sort of joy in defiance, whether they’re defying societal expectations or taking a stance against a seemingly prescribed fate. Shame’s fierce on-stage energy fuels these tracks; in fact, they were recorded live by legendary producer Flood (Nick Cave, The Jesus and Mary Chain) in between European tour dates. An evolution for the band that brings some welcome light to the murkiness of modern life.
