Crosses are back with another dose of enveloping, glitchy melancholia. Goodnight, God Bless, I Love U, Delete. feels oddly comforting in spite of the album's pervasive atmosphere of discontent, which makes sense because singer Chino Moreno has stated that the first part of the title comes from a phrase his family used to say to each other during his childhood, with the "delete" inspired by the idea it could all be gone tomorrow. But the pleasures of Crosses are not purely to be despondent: no, this is the type of moodiness it's a pleasure to immerse yourself in. The songs are enveloping, sometimes sensual, and often addictive. With guest appearances by El-P and Robert Smith, this might be the group's most intriguing effort yet.
