Grapefruit Season (CD)
James Vincent McMorrow
Amoeba Review
Irish singer/songwriter James Vincent McMorrow's fifth studio album of eclectic pop tunes is entitled Grapefruit Season. “Waiting” is a soulful ballad that reflects a bit of his former folk style, while “Paradise” is light and poppy. “Gone,” on the other hand, is made for the clubs with a hint of a tropical beat. McMorrow's sound may have changed over the years, but his familiar vibrato and relatable lyrics have kept his fanbase strong.
