Hardware [Apple Red Vinyl] (LP)
Billy F. Gibbons
Amoeba Review
There’s a reason Billy Gibbons is a legend. His latest, Hardware, adds more excellent evidence to that claim. With a name that’s a nod to Gibbons and ZZ Top’s longtime, late recording engineer Joe Hardy and a track list that consists largely of brand new, desert-rockin’ material, Hardware is an absolute scorcher of an album—atmospheric, rough-and-tough, and pure rock ’n’ roll. In the words of Billy Gibbons himself, “It’s a raging rocker but always mindful of the desert’s implicit mystery.” That sounds pretty right on. Turn this one up LOUD.
