Matt Berry's Heard Noises is evocative and exceptional. Channeling freewheeling '60s beach pop, splashy lounge, and space pop, these swingin' tracks are undeniable. Berry plays pretty much every instrument on the album. His list of collaborators is a veritable who's who of contemporary cool, with Craig Blundell on drums, and guest appearances from actor Natasha Lyonne, The Shins/Fruit Bats’ Eric D. Johnson, lap steel guitarist Phil Scraggs, vocalist Rosie McDermott, the S. Club 60s Choir (featuring Berry's mom) and Kitty Liv (Kitty, Daisy and Lewis). A true charmer of an album, they don't make 'em like this anymore.
