Heartache In Room 14 (LP)
The Altons
Amoeba Review
The Altons have teamed up with Daptone Records for their debut album Heartache in Room 14 — and it's a match made in heaven. The ultra-hip label known for lush, soulful purveyors of throwback sounds is a natural fit for The Altons, whose work is a contemporary hybrid of lounge, Tejano, and '50s pop. This is the soundtrack to movie teens slow dancing in pastel dresses at prom, of Lynch heroines staring meaningfully into the middle distance. It's languid, dreamy, moody, and immersive. Heartache in Room 14 is a gorgeous album that will transform the atmosphere in any room where it's on.
