Hold On Baby [Opaque White Vinyl] (LP) [Explicit]
King Princess
Amoeba Review
The second album from King Princess, Hold On Baby, is a stellar collection of left-of-center pop bops. King Princess enlisted a cadre of producers who straddle the line between indie and pop, including Mark Ronson, Tobias Jesso Jr., Ethan Gruska, and The National’s Aaron Dessner and Bryce Dessner. As a team, the artist and her collaborators truly excel at creating infectious pop tracks with an indie, rock ’n’ roll ethos. It’s an epic album with shimmering moments of light contrasting with more downbeat, self-deprecating interludes. Hold On Baby is strong evidence that King Princess might be one of the most interesting, innovative artists working in pop music today.
