It's great to have the inimitable Arab Strap back. Album title I'm Totally Fine With It Don't Give A Fuck Anymore is a perfect encapsulation of the band's droll humor and enjoyably dark mood. Opener "Allatonceness" is bleak and relentless, pure post-punk menace that serves as a fine intro to the album. "Bliss," a track about women being harassed online and the ugliness behind it, is a blend of heartbeat-quickening electro and blistering post-punk that teeters between euphoria and despair. "Stawberry Moon" opens with mutant disco rhythms and funk basslines before — yes — brutal post-punk guitars kick in. In short, this new album is everything you want from Arab Strap: dismal, danceable, gut-wrenching, and beautiful.
