I Made A Place [Red Vinyl] (LP)
Bonnie "Prince" Billy
Amoeba Review

After eight years away, Bonnie Prince Billy returns with the intriguing I Made a Place. Inspired by the music of Hawaii (specifically Johnny Lum Ho and Edith Kanaka’ole), this new album is markedly more optimistic than previous releases. Of course, this is a Bonny Prince Billy record, so although the tunes are streaked with more sunshine than usual, there’s often a shadow just around the corner. That’s what makes the album so compelling. The hooks are strong, the lyrics heartfelt, and the melodies infused with hope. A gift of an album from one of our greatest indie songwriters.
