Indie folk singer/songwriter Anna McClellan stands out for her off kilter vocals and slightly more raw arrangements. With straight-shooter lyrics like "What is all this shit about building walls?" in the single "Feel You," she presents her new album from her hometown of Omaha after leaving New York due to the pandemic. The whimsical "Raisin" features melodic organ with quirky vocal phrasing; "Desperate" is another highlight with its swaying Weezer-esque chords and ramshackle vocal delivery.
