Introducing...the Pink Stones [Random Colored Vinyl] (LP)
The Pink Stones
Amoeba Review
The Pink Stones (featuring Drive-By Truckers' John Neff) make their debut with a set of melodic country with strong psych-rock and indie rock elements. "Blueberry Dream" is as sleepy-eyed and easygoing as its title suggests, but "Barroom Blues" leaves behind the "cosmic" side of things for some enjoyably upbeat honkytonk. "Love Me Hardly," which feels more like indie rock with a gentle country flair, is an album highlight and shows off this debut's nice range of styles.
