Just Like That... (CD)
Bonnie Raitt
Amoeba Review
Bonnie Raitt's first album in six years is a spirited, easy-to-love blues rocker with enough earworms to keep it in your regular rotation. Just Like That... finds Raitt back together with her regular crew of collaborators: bassist James "Hutch" Hutchinson, drummer Ricky Fataar, guitarist/co-songwriter George Marinelli (on "Livin' for the Ones"), and engineer Ryan Freeland. Once again Raitt handles production duties, showcasing her technical virtuosity behind the soundboard as well as the fretboard. Songwriting-wise, Raitt stretches her creative wings, experimenting with new approaches while serving up the sultry, summery blues for which she's known and loved. Another excellent addition to the artist's catalog of modern classics.
