LABYRINTHITIS (CD)
Destroyer
Amoeba Review
Destroyer’s LABYRINTHITIS is a lush experience. With swelling strings, tongue-in-cheek lyrics, and irresistible beats, the album feels like spring emerging from a long winter, hope renewing as tumult winds down, or you know, someone working their way out of maze. The album feels animated by a fever pitch, an urgency running not too far beneath the disco rhythms of “June” or the dark funk of “Eat the Wine, Drink the Bread.” If you like your indie rock to dance close to the abyss, LABYRINTHITIS should get your feet tapping.
