Leftover Feelings (LP)
John Hiatt , The Jerry Douglas Band
Amoeba Review
The pandemic didn’t slow down folk icon John Hiatt, who walked into Nashville’s Historic RCA Studio B with The Jerry Douglas Band and created the excellent Leftover Feelings. There’s no drummer. There’s plenty of brilliant lyricism and emotional vulnerability—fitting for an album named after unresolved emotions. Yet listening to Leftover Feelings is a joyful experience; the sun’s always peaking out from behind the clouds, after all, and these are some of the music world’s most respected players. Not that you need any convincing, of course, but with its songs of heartache and hurt, powering through and hitting the road, Leftover Feelings will show you why these legends are legends.
