mxmtoon's latest gets a little darker and deeper while retaining her inimitable humor and charm. Liminal Space is an exploration of changes wanted and unwanted. "the situation" features Kero Kero Bonito on an upbeat indie track with an ultra catchy, slightly folksy chorus with lyrics like "we get older and we die and there's nothing you can do about it." On "i hate texas," mxmtoon gives shape to a familiar dilemma: a town (or an entire state) that's too small for both you and your ex. Smart, winsome, and with unbeatable melodies, existential angst has never sounded so good as it does on Liminal Space.
