About the shows and the music:
Acclaimed series We Are Lady Parts is currently nominated for a Peabody Award and garnered three BAFTA TV Awards this past week including best comedy writer for the show's creator Nida Manzoor as well as costume design and scripted casting. Showrunner Nida Manzoor wrote, executive produced and directed all episodes and co-wrote all the original music for the all-female Muslim punk band the series follows. The show will have a second season coming out on Peacock in the near future…
2021 Emmy nominee Girls5eva returned May 5 for season 2 on Peacock. The comedy series from Meredith Scardino stars Broadway’s Sara Bareilles and Renée Elise Goldsberry, Emmy nominee Paula Pell, and Busy Philipps as a once popular 90’s girl group reuniting for their second chance at fame. Executive produced by Tina Fey, the incredible music is from composer and executive producer Jeff Richmond. Hamilton star Goldsberry was nominated for a Critics Choice Award for her role as the group diva Wickie. Both seasons of the critically acclaimed series are certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
The limited series Dr. Death, from showrunner Patrick Macmanus and starring Joshua Jackson and Christian Slater features the mesmerizingly eerie soundtrack composed by Oscar and Emmy winner Atticus Ross alongside his brother, Leopold Ross, and Nick Chuba. The series, based on the Wondery podcast, follows the chilling true crime story of disgraced surgeon Christopher Duntsch, whose patients, expecting routine spinal surgeries, end up permanently disabled or dead. The series questions how a system that is sworn to protect patients let a man get away with deadly practices. All episodes are streaming now on Peacock.
