Cellski Live Set & Signing
Amoeba San Francisco - January 24th @ 5:00pm
We are thrilled to welcome rapper/producer Cellski for a live set and signing at Amoeba SF on Friday, January 24th at 5pm. Cellski's 1995 classic, Mr. Predicter, is finally available on vinyl and there's a new 12" of Livin’ in the Bay, both in limited quantities. Purchase either or both releases at Amoeba SF and get them signed after the set.
Marcell Wade, better known by his stage name Cellski, is an American rapper/record producer from San Francisco. He is also the CEO of his label, Inner City2K Records. Cellski grew up on Randolph Street in San Francisco's Oceanview neighborhood, locally known as "Lakeview."
In the late 1980s, when Cellski was 13 or 14, he began working with Oakland producer Al Eaton at the same studio where Too Short was recording his best-selling debut album, Life is Too Short. He began his career selling tapes from the trunk of his car in 1992. He sold 1,000 tapes that year, earning $6,000, and he realized this was preferential to illegal forms of money making.
