Love + Pop finds Current Joys getting weird, experimental, and emotional. There's a definite DIY vibe to these tracks that meld bedroom pop and hip-hop into a joyfully unpredictable sound. Lil Yachty appears on the woozy and wonderful "Gatsby." A cover of Lil Peep's "Walk Away as the Door Slams" goes lo-fi indie. "CIGARETTES" builds off an intense post-punk rhythm to create a downbeat mood that feels like the buildup to a horror movie finale. Nobody does it like Current Joys. This inimitable, innovative record pushes the indie envelope in the most enjoyable way.
