Luminescent Creatures (CD)
Ichiko Aoba
Amoeba Review
Japanese singer/songwriter Ichiko Aoba has released her first new studio album since 2020's acclaimed Windswept Adan. Aoba's delicate folk-pop songs on that album are envisioned as a soundtrack to an imaginary film set on two islands, and Luminescent Creatures continues the story. Her hushed vocals and atmospheric arrangements make these tracks ethereal and evocative, wistful and stirring. “Lucifèrine" is a magical and lovely gem that will spark your imagination.
