Madvillainy Demos (LP) (Upcoming Release)
Madvillain
Amoeba Review
In celebration of their 20th anniversary, Madvillain's Madvillainy Demos are getting the extra special treatment this special album deserves. Way back in 2002, before Madlib and MF DOOM released Madvillainy to the world, the first demo recordings of the album leaked online — and hip-hop would never be the same. The Madvillainy Demos still sound completely unlike anything else, fresh as hell, immersive, and wildly innovative. Stones Throw has pressed the demos on wax for the first time ever, with mastering by Dave Cooley (J Dilla, Peanut Butter Wolf, Madvillain, Madlib), new cover art, and an insert of photographer Eric Coleman's contact sheets from the 2002 album shoot. A must-have.
