Mercy (LP)
Natalie Bergman
Amoeba Review
Wild Belle’s baby-voiced Natalie Bergman makes her solo debut with Mercy, a new album of ‘60s-inflected indie pop that unabashedly highlights her Christian faith. But don’t let that topic fool you, if you aren’t religious: This is an album sure to appeal across the board. “Shine Your Light On Me” is a groovy, slinky track while “Talk To The Lord” is sweet and delicately quirky. Retro organ swells highlight the latter as well as “Sweet Mary,” another strong track that offers a girl-group feel.
